Iran seizes 4 wins, 1 loss at 2017 Cadet World C’ships

TEHRAN, Sep. 04 (MNA) – In the first day of the 2017 World Cadet Championships in the Greek capital, young Iranian Greco-Roman wrestlers managed to score four wins in five wrestling matches.  

The Greco-Roman qualification matches in the first five weight categories of the 2017 World Cadet Championships kicked off in the Greek capital Athens Monday morning and will last until tonight which will determine the finalists.

In 50kg category, Iran’s Milad Rezanezhad lost to his Russian opponent Vladimir Zabeyvorota, while Mohammad Hosseinivand defeated his Greek opponent Konstantinos Damianakis 10-1 in the 54kg and but lost to Ridge Thomas Lovett from the US 5-1.  

In 58kg category, Mohsen Madhani defeated his opponent from Czech Republic Vit Lebl 9-0 and managed to overwhelm Ivo Krasimirov Iliev from Bulgaria 10-0. He will next take on Maxim Canter from Moldova in the quarterfinals.

In the 63kg, Mostafa Kayed defeated Ruslan Hadisov from Azerbaijan 6-1, and will take on Rakhat Sagymbay from Kazakhstan in the quarterfinals.

In the 100kg, Mojtaba Hosseini defeated Yuri Nakazato from Japan 3-2, and managed to score a 2-1 win against his Bulgarian opponent Ignat Sevinov Milenov in the next match. He will take on Mehmet Atci from Turkey in the quarterfinals.

The 2017 World Cadet Championships in three Freestyle, Greco-Roman and Women’s categories will wrap up on September 10.
